The greatest gift you can give yourself in 2016

We all foray into the new year with high expectations. Resolutions, promises, changes, lessons, new perspectives,
hopes, gains and loss.

Looking back at how we made it through despite whatever challenges were thrown at us.
2015 was a helluva ride for me personally!!!
But the toughest times yield the strongest beings.

We’re already halfway through the second month of the new year. I’m sure most of us can’t even recall how time is passing and dozen resolutions have already found their way out of the year.

But its not the end. I ask you to give yourself, a truly needed gift.

The gift of loving yourself this year.

We often extend ourselves for others so much without realizing to take care of our own needs. This may seem to be a selfish move to most of us.

But don’t you feel that we’d be in a better position to take care of situations and relationships in our life if we were kind and affectionate towards our own selves?

To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.
Oscar Wilde

The most ignored person within your life is often you.

Burdened with responsibilities, social pressure, the race to get somewhere, maintaining relationships, carving the perfect life often leads to creating a meaningless life.

When was the last time you actually appreciated yourself or did something that really made you feel good about being you?

Self appreciative individuals are said to lead a longer, happier and more successful life.

Yeah, you need that pat on your back when you do something good, not by someone, do it yourself.

Look at yourself daily in the mirror and say “You’re beautiful” or “You’re fabulous”, however stupid this may seem it actually helps in raising your self esteem and releases endorphins or happy hormones boosting confidence.

Accept your flaws, imperfections and BREATHE its not that bad as it seems, that makes you so YOU!

And remember we’re all made equal, we were made to lead the perfect life that we all crave, so let it naturally set in instead of trying to control every situation.

This year promise yourself to live each day fully, breathe in this very moment, be thankful for all that you have and ensure that no one or no situation can dull your sparkle.

Forgive yourself for all mistakes of the past and embrace the journey this very moment.

You will realize that the more you get better at being just yourself by ditching self sabotaging habits, the better will be your life choices and the impact of your positivity on people.
